Discontent:The Fuel Of Change
Posted by Rita under Life Management

Discontent. We have all experienced it. We have witnessed it in the lives of those around us. It’s that extremely uncomfortable feeling that we not only dread, but would try at all costs to avoid. Yet, it’s often the only launching pad that will blast us out of old behaviors, relationships, or careers that no longer serve us well.
We are such stubborn creatures of habit, and we are often so fearful of change. We remain too long in situations that stress us out and make us unhappy. We lack the courage to walk on unfamiliar ground, and rather than make a move toward something that would be better and improve our life and/or condition, we stay frozen in the familiar.
We stay in our unhappy state because even though it makes us unhappy, at least we know what we are dealing with, and we know what to expect, and how it works. And if it were not for extreme discontent percolating, spilling over, and making us overwhelmingly miserable, we would never chart a new course for our lives. When our unhappiness becomes greater than our fear, discontentment serves as the catalyst for positive change.
There’s a message underneath our discontentment if we will be honest with ourselves and examine the source of our unhappiness. Take a chance. Make a change. We are worthy of happiness.
