“A merry heart doeth good like a medicine.” ~ Proverbs 15:13

We’ve all heard that laughter is the best medicine, and that particular modern saying comes from a much older writing in Proverbs.  I think laughter is one of my greatest gifts; my sense of humor keeps me going even in the direst of circumstances.  And the funniest moments sometimes come to us in the everyday activities of our lives.  For instance, when I worked at Parker Middle School, there was a particularly annoying 6th grade student who brought down the classroom with laughter one day.  This  kid was trying hard to be the class clown and took every opportunity to interrupt me or his fellow classmates with stupid tricks or lame jokes.  Not only did he irritate me, but I could hear the groans and see the  rolling eyes of the other students in the class, also.  However, one day as we were going over our vocabulary words, and we were discussing the meaning of “clairvoyant,” I asked who could tell me of a psychic experience.  Of course my little clown’s hand shot up first.  I looked hopelessly around for another hand, but finding none, I asked him what his experience was.  He replied, “I just wanted to use that word in a sentence.”  “Okay, go ahead,” I sighed.  Instead of saying something crazy, or falling out of his desk onto the floor, or some other antic, he began his sentence quite seriously.  “My mother says I’m clairvoyant because I have always been psychotic.”  For the first time that year, he brought down the house with uproarious laughter.  And not understanding what caused the merriment, he asked, looking a little embarrassed, “What?”  I just wanted to hug him right then and there.

We are very proud of how well our blog is progressing, and the impressive number of visitors who have come to call since the birth of HomeSpun Healers. To all of our visitors and readers: Thank you!

I don’t know how accurate these tests are but they sure are fun. I took the quiz and got the following results:

You are more expressive than most people. You let everyone know how you’re feeling - the good, the bad, and the ugly.

You are a very passionate person. You are highly charged and easily inspired.

You are an assertive and aggressive person. You are determined and not likely to ever give up.

You take a while to fall in love, but once you do, you stay pretty attached to your partner.

You are not afraid of anything. You are brave and courageous, even when most people would be terrified.

You are intellectual and philosophical. You are more concerned with thoughts than action.

You are a fairly hard worker, but you are also a little spoiled. You like indulge yourself every now and then.

Find out what your feet say about you by going here:

Why not post your results in our comment section?

The Million Blog List is an experiment to see how long it will take to get 1,000,000 blogs to list themselves on a site at wikipedia.

It started on April 10th. and when I added HomeSpun Healers, she was number 962.

They should reach a million by next month, easily. Go on, add your own and make my prediction come true.
